Difficult markets

How you can provide for difficult markets

If you rent out your machinery, you’d be restricting your potential for profit by keeping rentals to the UK exclusively. Businesses can benefit exponentially by opening themselves up to international export markets. As machinery is more expensive to buy or rent in other countries, there’s greater profit to be made by securing long-term rental agreements further afield. Africa, Australia, and the US are just some of the big players in plant machinery rental markets.

Construction equipment rentals already contribute to over £7 billion of revenue in the UK. But imagine how much this could increase if businesses started to better provide long-term rental solutions for the more difficult markets.

What do we mean by ‘difficult markets’?

Any machine created after 2013 will have either a DPF or AdBlue system, or both. Not every country is equipped to maintain these systems or deal with any issues that may come about during use. And when we’re talking about DPF and AdBlue, we can expect a fair amount of issues.

In the case of Africa, they’re unable to deal with high maintenance AdBlue systems. They have no access to the necessary fluid and so would be unable to maintain these machines if they were to rent them.

Because of this, they don’t even bother and are left using ineffective tier 2 machines. Why run the risk of paying for a machine that’ll be left inactive for half of the job when you could rent a lower maintenance, older machine? To ensure they don’t have to worry about trying to rectify a system they don’t understand, they settle for less efficiency and worse value for money.

Bridge the gap

By removing the problematic DPF or AdBlue systems from your machines, you increase your potential to serve markets like these. You’re able to provide brand new, efficient machines without the troublesome emission systems.

Whereas before, markets like Africa would have steered clear of new machines, you’re able to offer them the best of both worlds. In return, you expand your export markets and bring in greater opportunities for profit. Not to mention, you don’t have to worry about the extra expense of sending help to fix your machines on-site, or hefty repair costs when you get them back home.

There’s a big demand for long-term plant machinery rentals, but sometimes DPF and AdBlue will hold you back. While you want to look further afield to expand your market, you have to consider whether different countries could deal with the extra effort of high maintenance machinery. By removing the problematic emission systems, you bridge this gap.

When using DPF Doctor kits, it only takes a simple plug-in process to bridge the gap to difficult markets. You get to increase your export potential and chances of a greater profit. If you have any questions or want to inquire about a specific kit, get in touch on +44 (0) 1234 567890.
